BYK-310 |
Solution of a polyester modified dimethylpolysiloxane |
Silicone surface additive to provide good substrate wetting of critical substrates and good anti-crater performance by reduction of surface tension of the coatings. It also increases surface slip along with scratch resistance and anti-blocking. BYK-310 is a heat resistant silicone additive, i.e., in contrast to conventional (polyether modified) silicones, it shows no thermal decomposition at temperatures between 150C / 300F and 230C / 450F. Thus, upon recoating baking systems, no loss in adhesion and no surface defects occur. (Note: The aforementioned defects can be caused by the decomposition products of conventional silicones at temperatures above 150C / 300F.) The effective substance of BYK-310 is listed in title CFR 21 (food and drugs) '175.300 - Indirect Food Additives, Adhesives and Components of Coatings. The usage level may not exceed 0.1% (delivery form based on total formulation) and the film thickness may not exceed 12 Am (0.5 mil.). |
