DUPONTELVALOY impact modifiers offer long-lasting, impact resistance to polyvinyl chloride for rigid applications such as house siding and window profiles. ELVALOY 4924 offers improved properties andper~offtiance over other impact modifiers in the areas of: , Cost efficiency. , Processibility. , Toughness arid impact strength. , Long-term weatherability. , Fade resistant colors. ELVALOY is 25-30% more efficient than other impact modifiers. It also permits higher filler loadings thus allowing lower compound costs. Products made with ELVALOY exhibit a high degree of ductile failures rather than brittle failures during testing before and afterweathering. Another benefit is flexibility in finish. If desired, a dull or matte finish can be obtained with out expensive dulling agent. PVC products containing 3-7 phr of ELVALOY 4924 show: , High impact strength-equivalent or superior to acrylic modifiers. , No significant change in physical properties, i.e., tensile strength, modulus of elasticity, and heat deflection temperature. , Excellent weatherability--Compounds retain color, impact strength and physical properties on extended weathering. , Minimized siding damage--lmpact failures are ductile rather than brittle. , Shear stability--These products retain impact strength, physical properties, and weather resistance after reprocessing. , Excellent punchabilityeven at low temperature. |
