ELECTROSOL Agent D |
|
ELECTROSOL D is a liquid anti-static agent of the modified fatty amine class, for integral use in resins. Processors of extrusions, films, and moldings blend it with resins pellets and powder such as polypropylene, polyethylene, and polyester. The addition of 0.25-1.0% ELECTROSOL D to the resin prior to processing provides permanent destaticizing. The effect is to alter the position in the electromotive series of the normally negatively-charged resin toward neutral so that no static charge is generated by contact with other materials. In addition, to improve crack resistance and promote resiliency of moldings, the use of about 2.5% ELECTROSOL D is suggested. It will be found that ELECTROSOL D also acts as a mold release agent. |

To some extent, ELECTROSOL D increases transparency. Higher concentrations will improve hydrophillic properties of the finished product. Where surfaces of plastics incorporating this anti-static agent are to be printed, the addition of 0.1% ELECTROSOL D to the printing ink is recommended. The use of well-mixed master batches will ensure uniform blending with the resin. No curing time is required. After prolonged storage at cold temperatures, ELECTROSOL D should be warmed to 40-50C before use. This pale amber liquid boils at 148C, is soluble in water and alcohol, and has a specific gravity of 0.99. |
