DEHYDAT 78 is recommended for use as an internal and external antistatic agent for a variety of plastics.
For external use with PMMA, polyacrylate, polyolefin and polystyrene, DEHYDAT 78 can be further diluted with water to facilitate application by dipping, brushing or spraying.
For use as an internal antistatic agent, the water content is often undesirable, and must be removed by appropriate methods, such as degassing in the production of PVC pastes.
Ammonium compounds often have a negative influence of the thermostability of PVC, so that a large amount of stabilizer may be needed.
The following values can be taken as a guideline for use as an internal antistatic agent:
Plasticized PVC: 5-10%
Polystyrene: 1-3% |
