This inorganic fire retardant is non-toxic and does not generate poisonous gas during combustion. Thus it eliminates two of the biggest problems of conventional high temperature flame retardants. In addition, Magnesium Hydroxide also has a diluent effect on the smoke generated during combustion because it releases its chemically combined water at approximately 350C. AluChem's Magnesium Hydroxide provides the necessary temperature profile for processing compatibility with olefins and even nylons.
