ULTRANOX 246 is a non-discoloring and non-staining stabilizer based on sterically hindered, alkylated, bisphenol for use in styrenic and olefin polymers as well as polyoxy-methylene homo and copolymers. This material is an excellent antioxidant for use when long term heat stability is required. Its low volatility and mig- ration tendencies make it useful in polyolefins, styrenics and rubber. ULTRANOX 246 is particularly useful in white, light colored and transparent rubber vulcanizates for heat stability and to prevent crazing on exposure to light. For best performance, ULTRANOX 246 should be used in combination with an organophosphite such as ULTRANOX 626, WESTON 619 or WESTON 399. The following loadings are suggested: Polyolefins: % ULTRANOX 246:0.05-0.10, % Organophosphite: 0.01-0.10 Styrenics: % ULTRANOX 246:0.10-1.00, % Organophosphite: 0.10-1.00 Rubber: % ULTRANOX 246: 0.25-2.00, % Organophosphite: 0.25-1.50 |
