				| Q-CEL 500 |  |  |  | Q-CEL hollow microspheres are single-cell, hollow borosilicate glass microspheres. Lightweight Q-CEL hollow microspheres are free-flowing white powders.
 Each of these spherical particles encapsulates air and thus provides a low-density filler that reduces weight and enhances performance properties.
 Plastics Applications:
 In general, Q-CEL products have a density approximately one-fifth that of polyester resins.
 Thus, on an equal weight basis, the microspheres occupy about 5 times more volume than the resin does. Because of this, Q-CEL microspheres can reduce compound weight and/or cost. In addition, they can provide other desirable properties, which are applicable in specific end-uses, such as increased impact resistance, improved finishing characteristics and increased thermal shock resistance.
 Q-CEL ULTRALIGHT and Q-CEL 2116 spheres are recommended for polyester casting and other low-viscosity, low-shear applications.
 Q-CEL products with densities of 0.16 g/cm 3 or greater are suited for many applications, including fiberglass reinforced plastics, urethane foams, putties, cultured marble and adhesives.
