Exxpro MDX 89-4
Brominated copolymers of isobutylene and paramethylstyrene
Innerliners in radial truck tires and off-the-road tires require a high degree of heat resistance as well as good flex fatigue resistance. Bromobutyl has, for the most part, met these requirements. However, as service requirements become more demanding further improvements in these important parameters are needed.
A new polymer has been developed which meets these needs. This polymer (Exxpro MDX 89-4), a brominated copolymer of isobutylene and paramethylstyrene, combines the superior air holding characteristics of bromobutyl with significant improvements in heat and flex fatigue resistance.
