ARCOSOLV PTB is a colorless, combustible liquid with a characteristic odor similar to that of eucalyptus. It is completely miscible with many organic solvents and has good solvency for a number of substances. ARCOSOLV PTB and blends are substitutes for many ethylene glycol (E-series) ethers including butoxyethanol (EB). It is soluble up to 18% in pure water at room temperature. The solubility of ARCOSOLV PTB in water is increased by the addition of low molecular weight alcohols and other water miscible glycol ethers. |
