TAURANOL I-78 is a practically salt-free surfactant especially designed for use in personal cleaning products. TAURANOL I-78 combines mildness and resistance to hard and salt water with high foaming properties similar to soap. It is compatible with soap and gives excellent lime-soap dispersability.
TAURANOL I-78 is soluble in soft or hard water at all pH's. It is stable in formulations at near-neutral pH and room temperature for extended periods of time but will gradually hydrolyze at elevated temperatures. TAURANOL I-78 is biodegradable. It is slightly hygroscopic: keep containers closed to prevent lumping of the powder.
SOAP BARS: TAURANOL I-78 is used in "combo bar" applications at levels of 2 - 60% to provide lathering in hard or soft water similar to soaps in soft water. Its dense lather is additive to that of soap. Such mixtures are mild to the skin and are relatively non-drying.
SHAMPOOS: The properties of TAURANOL I-78 also make it an excellent shampoo detergent ingredient. Besides compatibility with hard water, good cleaning properties, and excellent lathering, TAURANOL I-78 imparts hair manageability.
BUBBLE BATHS: TAURANOL I-78 is recommended for use in bubble baths as a high foaming agent. It provides longer-lasting suds, even in the presence of soap, and is mild to skin. |
