Anti-Terra-207 |
Solution of an alkylolammonium salt of an unsaturated fatty acid, anionic |
Wetting and dispersing additive to improve pigment wetting and stabilize the pigment dispersion. It is a controlled flocculating agent and is therefore preferably used in primers and undercoats. If gloss requirements are not too high it can also be used in topcoats. Anti-Terra 207 creates thixotropy and therefore prevents flooding and floating, settling of the pigments and reduces sagging. The resulting thixotropy from Anti-Terra 207 is much less pronounced than with Anti-Terra 202 or Anti-Terra 204. The additive can be used to gel organophilic bentonites and to produce pastes with improved flow, processability and storage stability. Anti-Terra 207 is mainly used in anti-corrosion and marine paints based on alkyds, cyclo- and chlorinated rubber, and bituminous derivates. It is used additionally in shop primers and water reducible systems. In acid curing and nitrocellulose paints, Anti-Terra 207 works well to prevent the settling of silica based flatting agents. Anti-Terra 207 is only available on the North American market. In other countries use Anti-Terra 206 instead. |
