STRUCTURE SOLANACE (28-1808) is a unique naturally derived product for the skin care market. The starch is targeted for use in low pH skin care emulsions, but may also find applicability in a variety of other skin and hair care cosmetics. The STRUCTURE SOLANACE is a novel raw material that performs as a rheological additive, providing thickening properties and emulsion stabilization while leaving excellent, long lasting after feel. This combination of properties is especially difficult to achieve in low pH systems such as alpha hydroxy acid emulsions, where low pH, acceptable viscosity/rheology, and good aesthetics are essential. The starch functions at low pH to provide stable viscosity and pH over time, both at ambient and accelerated aging conditions. The starch is also widely compatible with typical cosmetic raw materials, allowing broad formulating latitude.
