| Santicizer 2148 Plasticizer is a low-smoke, flame-retardant Alkyl Aryl Phosphate Ester plasticizer with very low volatility, excellent low-temperature performance and good softening efficiency. This combination of properties is unique for a flame-retardant plasticizer: volatility and low-temperature characteristics are considerably improved over Santicizer 141 or Santicizer 148. Extensive testing indicates that, when substituted for Phthalate Plasticizers in PVC, Santicizer 2148 imparts large reductions in smoke and significant improvement in flame spread. These enhancements can be realized in systems already benefiting from high levels of other FR agents and smoke suppressants such as Antimony Oxide, ATH and Molybdenum. In most cases, the substitution of Santicizer 2148 in place of non-phosphate plasticizers allows for the reduction in the use of other flame and smoke- retardant additives. |
