Safoam RIC |
|
SAFOAM RIC is a low temperature endothermic chemical nucleating and blowing agent for the creation of a foam structure in thermoplastic injection molding and extrusion applications. It is commonly used in custom compounding operations for the creation of standard size cells in structural foam and for fine cell nucleation in direct gas applications. Recommended for olefinic and vinyl based thermoplastics, but may be used in any thermoplastics or thermoset material that reaches the decomposition temperature during processing and is not moisture-sensitive. SAFOAM RIC is commonly used in custom compounding of PVC, alone and in conjunction with other exothermic blowing agents. Powder processors will benefit from the better economics of SAFOAM RIC over pelletized SAFOAM. It is not recommended for moisture-sensitive resins. *Benefits: - Creates a standard closed-cell foam structure - Improves melt flow & dispersion in thermoplastics - In-line paintable - Improves cycle time in injection molding - Increases extrusion output rate - Achieves significant weight reductions - White foams - Enhances surface appearance - No pin holes - FDA approved–safe for food contact - pH balanced and buffered formula - Improves process economics |
