REGAL 250 pigment black is a low structure specialty black pigment designed to impart high gloss and moderate color strength in lithographic gloss inks. * Lithographic Inks: REGAL 250 pigment black is a blue tone carbon black with very low vehicle demand and moderate color strength. It is used primarily in lithographic gloss ink applications where good color strength and high gloss are required. Because of its low vehicle demand, it is particularly well suited for applications where a highly loaded base is desired. * Liquid Inks: REGAL 250 pigment black is also very applicable in liquid inks requiring low viscosity and low contamination such as gravure inks. The low contamination of REGAL 250 is very desirable in reducing cylinder abrasion, which can occur in long gravure press runs. * Energy Curing Inks: REGAL 250 pigment black is well suited for energy curing liquid and paste printing inks, requiring high gloss and good color strength. Its relatively large particle size and low structure results in a low level of UV absorption while maintaining good color strength and high gloss. The dispersibility of REGAL 250 pigment black depends on the equipment used and the formulation. It is relatively easy to disperse compared to other pelletized Gloss Ink Blacks REGAL 250 is a pelleted pigment black with a typical bulk density of 32 lbs/ft3 (512 g/L) that can be bulk handled. It is also available in an easier to disperse powdered form as REGAL 250R. |
