PX-111, Diundecyl Phthalate, is a primary plasticizer developed for the wire and cable industry. It exhibits superior properties in efficiency, processibility, and low temperature flexibility. Formulations made from PX-111 have low volatility and excellent resistance to chemical breakdown at high temperatures: and therefore, better retention of properties after oven aging. It can be blended with linear phthalates, DIDP, or trimellitates for formulatinng 75, 90, and 105 wire insulation compounds. PX-111 is also recommended for vinyl compounds used in automotive applications due to its low volatility, ease of processing, and excellent low temperature flexibility. The plastisol viscosity stability of PX-111 is excellent. PX-111 is available with the stabilizer Topcanol CA for electrical application. Due to the high pour point of this plasticizer, it should not be stored at low temperatures over a long period of time. |
