PMF Fiber is a man-made vitreous fiber developed for use as filler-reinforcement in various applications such as phenolics, friction materials, thermoplastics, and coatings. Processed from slag wool, which is fiberized at temperatures exceeding 2,400'F, PMF Fiber offers outstanding heat resistance and wear characteristics. It is an excellent alternative to asbestos and a low-cost, high-performance replacement for glass. Major applications currently include: - Acoustical ceiling tile - Fireproof cement - Miscellaneous refractory board products - Building insulation - Asphalt - Soil stabilizer and numerous agricultural applications - Phenolics - Thermoplastics - Paints and coatings - Friction materials (including numerous automotive applications such as brake linings, rotors, disk pads, and clutch components) |
