MILLAD clarifying agents are additives used primarily to enhance the clarity and aesthetics of polyolefins, particularly polypropylene (PP) and linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE). These additives are also used in resins to provide improved physical properties and to reduce manufacturing costs through increased productivity. Because MILLAD clarifying agents are organic in nature, they melt during normal processing and thus become completely and evenly distributed in the resin. This melting factor is a significant advantage over inorganic nucleators, which do not melt and are thus much more difficult to disperse. The overall effect is that the MILLAD additives provide superior aesthetics and uniform property enhancement.
