Microbial catalyst with activated carbon |
|
MICROCAT-HX is a specialty blend of preselected, adapted microorganisms and specialized activated carbons for use in biological wastewater treatment plants. MICROCAT-HX contains a combination of aerobes and facultative anaerobes selected from nature for their ability to break down a broad range of man-made and natural organic compounds. MICROCAT-HX also contains carefully selected powdered activated carbons for immobilizing low-level toxicants in the wastewater stream, reducing their impact on the treatment system and making them easier to treat. MICROCAT-HX is formulated for application in biological wastewater treating plants (especially activated sludge systems) receiving industrial wastes. These plants, whether municipal or industrial, accept a wide range of organic substances, some of which are toxic and/or difficult-to-degrade. Such chemicals tend to pass through the system and/or cause inhibition and system upsets resulting in poor effluent quality and increased costs of operations. MICROCAT-HX synergistically combines the adsorption and waste immobilization capacity of specialized powdered activated carbons with the enhanced biodegradation capability of preselected, adapted microbial strains. When used on a preventive maintenance basis, this combination can stabilize and enhance the ongoing operations and improve overall system performance at reduced cost. MICROCAT-HX is formulated specifically for use by the chemical, petroleum refining, primary metals, textile and related industries and for use in municipal plants receiving wastes produced by industry. |
