Mark 1500 phosphite is a patented, FDA-cleared chelating agent recommended for use in conjunction with 'calcium zinc' stabilizers to provide crisp initial color and long-term stability to rigid PVC.
It is not cleared by FDA for use in flexible PVC.
Mark 1500 phosphite has been cleared by the FDA for use at levels not exceeding 1.0% by weight in rigid PVC homopolymers and/or copolymers 3 in contact with all foods except milk.
The conditions of use of the finished package are limited to hot filling or pasteurizing below 150'F and/or storing at room temperature. |
