Mackamide CDM is a modified cocoyl diethanolamide which exhibits excellent compatibility with inorganic builders and alkalies in aqueous systems.
It was developed for industrial and specialty cleaning formulations.
Mackamide CDM is also widely used as a detergent, wetting agent and emulsifier and viscosity builder in both aqueous and non-aqueous systems.
A chain lube concentrate can be prepared by mixing approx. 12% NA4 EDTA and 25% Mackamide CDM in hot water.
This concentrate, when diluted to 1% in water, provides good lubricity.
It is compatible with hard water too.
Because Mackamide CDM is soluble in aliphatic solvents, it can be used to formulate rinseable degreasers for metal cleaning.
It also exhibits rust inhibitions properties.
