Mackalene 416
Isostearamidopropyl dimethylamine lactate
55852-15-8
Mackalene 416 is a 25% active cationic surfactant that is used primarily as a conditioner in hair care products.
Mackalene 416 has an advantage over quaternary ammonium cationics in that it rinses more readily from the hair and thereby prevents build-up or a "matted" feel.
It can be used at moderate levels (2 - 3%), in anionic formulations without causing haze or separation and is recommended as a conditioner in clear shampoo formulations.
Also, at concentrations of 4%, it will effectively improve wet combing properties.
