Mackalene 316
Stearamidopropyl dimethylamine lactate
55819-53-9
Mackalene 316 is a cationic surfactant that is used primarily as a conditioner for hair care products.
Mackalene 316 has an advantage over quaternary ammonium cationics in that it rinses more readily from the hair and thereby prevents build-up or a "matted" feel.
Mackalene 316 is also compatible with anionic surfactants and is recommended as a conditioner for shampoos.
At low concentrations it will not depress foam and provides excellent thickening properties.
