Akro-Gel |
|
AKROGEL Dry Powder is a water soluble powder composed of Sodium Salt of a Methyl Tauride. It is used to make Akrogel aqueous release solution. It is compatible with all types of elastomers. It is used to prevent sticking of uncured compounds and extrusions. Akrogel also reduces water spotting in vulcanizer cures. 1. LUBRICATING EXTRUDED GOODS: Passing an extrusion through a 2 to 10% Akro-Gel solution will prevent sticking during cure. 2. PREVENTION OF WATER SPOTTING IN OPEN STEAM CURE: To prevent water spotting in open steam cure, pass the stock through a 10 to 15% Akro-Gel solution before cure. This places a thin coating of Akro-Gel on the stock which prevents water droplets from standing on the surface of the goods and eliminates the spotting. 3. SLAB DIP: A 10 to 20% Akro-Gel solution will prevent uncured stock from sticking to itself or to other uncured stocks. Akro-Gel is transparent and will not discolor white or color stocks. |
