Akrochem¡¯s Retarder CTP is chemically knows as N-(cyclohexylthio) phthalimide. CTP is a potent pre-vulcanized inhibitor utilized in sulfur cured elastomers. Its highest efficiency is with sulfenamide type accelerators, but is also effective with thiazole cures. This retarder increases scorch time by scavenging 2-mercaptobenzothiazole (MBT) during the sulfur cure mechanism. The recommended loading is between 0.10 and 0.40 phr with a maximum non-blooming dosage of up to 0.5 phr. CTP is a 75% active dispersion of CTP in EPR. Polymer bound or encapsulated dispersions are a proven means of upgrading plant safety, efficiency, quality & raw material control. |
