Molecular weight primary plasticizer recommended for use in blood bags, dialysis bags, catheters and similar bio-medical devices. Blood serum extraction studies of film made with HATCOL 200 show extractibles to be one hundredth of that made with DEHP. Similar order of magnitudes of lower extractibles were observed in saline solution extraction studies. The HATCOL 200 is used with PVC homopolymer and copolymer resins and imparts good processing characteristics, high gloss and clarity along with good low temperature flexibility. A New Plasticizer for Use in PVC Biomedical Devices
Shows significantly reduced extractibles as compared to DEHP plasticized products.
Was made into PVC film that showed blood extractibles of only one-hundredth of that obtained from DEHP plasticized film.
Provides the advantages of high clarity, good flex ibility, easy heat sealing and handling character istics. |
