Halogenated Flame Retardant
Great Lakes GPP-39 is a unique new halogenated polymeric flame retardant especially suited to use in polyolefin fibers. Great Lakes GPP-39 has been chemically engineered to provide a total bromine content of 39% from both aromatic and aliphatic sources. Great Lakes GPP-39 has improved thermal stability and flame retardancy.Being a non-dusting plastic itself, the handling, metering, processing and storage of Great Lakes GPP-39 are especially ¡°user friendly¡± for the typical compounder.
Incorporation of Great Lakes GPP-39 during fiber extrusion aids in production of inherently flame retardant olefin fibers. Great Lakes GPP-39 is recommended for non-blooming V-2 applications and film applications as a melt blended polymeric flame retardant, improving film extrusion properties.
The use of proper protective equipment is recommended. Excess exposure to the product should be avoided. Wash thoroughly after handling. Store the product in a cool, dry, wellventilated area away from incompatible materials. Unless stated, proper storage will permit usage of the product for 6 to 12 months from the date of receipt. For additional handling and toxicological information, consult the GLCC Material Safety Data Sheet.
