Akrochem TETD is a very active, sulfur-bearing, non-discoloring rubber accelerator for use in natural and synthetic rubber systems. TETD functions as a primary accelerator for cure systems requiring very low or no sulfur. It is an accelerator for W type neoprenes, but serves as a retarder/cure modifier in G type neoprenes. It is often used in conjunction with thiazole or sulfenamide curing systems. Accelerator TETD contains 10.8% available sulfur. Normally zinc oxide and a fatty acid are required when using TETD in a natural rubber application. Sulfur is not required, but is often used. TETD can be blended with TMTD to reduce the tendency of the compound to bloom while maintaining cure activity. Accelerator TETD is also available as Akroform TETD PM (75). This polymeric masterbatch contains 75% Accelerator TETD and has a specific gravity of 1.20. Polymer bound or encapsulated dispersions are a proven means of upgrading plant safety, efficiency, quality and raw material control. |
