FR-20, Magnesium hydroxide, a joint product of Dead Sea Periclase and Dead Sea Bromine Group, is a non-halogen flame retardant recommended where use of halogenated products is limited or prohibited. In addition, it is an excellent smoke suppressant and acid scavenger. Its high thermal stability - up to 340¡ÆC - enables its use where Aluminium trihydrate is not sufficiently stable.
FR-20 is used as a flame retardant and smoke suppressant in cables, LD and HDPE, PP homo and copolymers and nylons. It is employed as a smoke suppressant in PVC.
FR-20 is available in several surface-treated grades which are suited to specific applications. |
