Epoxidized Soya Bean Oil, Epoxy co-stabilizers The epoxy stabilizers are mainly epoxidized oils, such as soya bean oil or esters of unsaturated acids. They are used as secondary stabilizers in both rigid and flexible PVC compounds. They also act as plasticizers. The addition of small percentages can give a significant improvement to the heat stability of the final compound. The epoxy stabilizers are thought to act by their ability with hydrogen chloride, to yield an epichlor-hydrin compound. |
