EPOLENE E-20 wax is a medium-density, low-molecular-weight oxidized polyethylene wax with exceptional hardness and low color. This product has a low softening point and low viscosity, which give it the same desirable emulsification properties of a low-density wax. EPOLENE E-20 is particularly attractive for use in emulsions for coating citrus fruits. The low softening point and low viscosity contribute to the hardness, short drying time, and excellent gloss of the coatings. However, pressure equipment is required for emulsification of this material. EPOLENE E-20 wax is an excellent performer in high-speed, buffable floor finishes. It improves buffability and durability. EPOLENE polymers are supplied as free-flowing pellets (and powder, EPOLENE E-20P Wax) and packaged in multi-walled paper bags with a polyethylene coated inner liner (50 LB net weight).
