EM-9400 is an air-blown synthetic replacement for blown sperm oil.
Its emulsifiability and mineral oil solubility are similar to that of blown sperm oil.
It is soluble in most mineral oils and many common organic solvents, but insoluble in water.
Solubility will vary with each source of base oil.
EM-9400 is used in lubricants and preservative oils to improve their surface wetting properties.
Its use in lubricants, including cutting oils and drawing compounds, results in good corrosion protection for ferrous and non-ferrous metals. |
