FINSOLV PL-62 displays inverse solubility properties similar to FINSOLV EMG-20, that is, FINSOLV PL-62 is insoluble in aqueous systems up to a certain point (depending on other ingredients) after which it will become soluble. Upon dilution (as in the rinsing of a shampoo or facial cleanser), the FINSOLV PL-62 will then become insoluble again and deposit on the substrate.
Both FINSOLV PL-62 and FINSOLV PL-355 are effective additives to adjust and stabilize micro-emulsions.
Ongoing Applications Research at FINETEX indicate that FINSOLV PL-62 and FINSOLV PL-355 are extremely valuable in the preparation of clear, aqueous based emollient systems including clear sunscreen preparations, transparent skin care lotions and cremes, and transparent hair care products. In this latter category, shampoos, shampoo-conditioners and after-shampoo conditioning products are possible which will deliver, upon rinsing, emollient conditioning to hair which will enhance luster and combability. |
