FINSOLV EMG-20 is a unique, highly hydrophilic benzoate ester for general personal care and cosmetic use. Because of the significant degree of ethoxylation in the molecule, FINSOLV EMG-20 displays several properties useful in aqueous-based systems. FINSOLV EMG-20:
- will spontaneously form clear systems with water starting at about 20% ester.
- displays an inverse solubilization effect
that is emulsions (macro and micro) containing FINSOLV EMG-20, upon dilution, will show a deposition of the benzoate ester. The afterfeel created by this deposition, either on hair or skin, is quite unique and pleasant.
- is both a skin conditioner and a hair conditioner. In the former case, a luxuriant and very apparent effect is felt. On hair, wet combing is dramatically improved and a gentle luster is imparted.
- can serve as an emulsion stabilizer for the more hydrophobic FINSOLV Benzoate Esters.
- is an excellent solvent for chemical sunscreens and is a unique solvent/stabilizer for dihydroxyacetone in Sunless Tanning lotions.
FINSOLV EMG-20 is useful in all types of skin, hair, and decorative cosmetic products. Hand and face creams benefit from its unique feel on the skin and its spreading properties. Sunscreens and sunless tanning products benefit from its excellent solvent properties and its low toxicity.
Bath and shower products as well as shampoos and conditioners will have improved afterfeel due to the inverse solubility characteristic of FINSOLV EMG-20. Color cosmetics will spread easier and have better dispersion of pigments. |
