FINSOLV BOD is the highest molecular weight product in the hydrophobic group of FINSOLV¢ç Benzoate Esters. It confers the most apparent feel or "cushion" and is most useful when an elegant, non-greasy afterfeel is desirable.
Like the other FINSOLV Benzoate Esters, FINSOLV BOD displays low toxicity, high spreading coefficient and excellent solubilization of cosmetic ingredients including sunscreens and fragrance oils. In the latter case, FINSOLV BOD can serve as a fixative and extender.
FINSOLV BOD is a valuable additive to all types of Personal Care products due to its superior afterfeel, solvency properties and foam enhancement properties.
At levels below 2%, FINSOLV BOD is particularly useful in skin cleaning formulations (see below) where it aids in oil removal and improves the flash foam and feel of the sodium cocoyl isethionate. In skin creams and lotions, FINSOLV BOD dramatically enhances spreadability and uniformity of the final film, and leaves no "greasy" feel. In fact, FINSOLV BOD, like the other FINSOLV Benzoate Esters, will reduce the normally "greasy" feel of traditional emollients and skin conditioners.
In hair care products, including shampoos, shampoo-conditioners, and rinse conditioners, FINSOLV BOD acts as a conditioner to confer luster and will assist in wet combing. In decorative cosmetics, FINSOLV BOD will improve the spreadability and final feel of make-ups, lipsticks, and eye products, and will serve as a gentle, effective solvent/emollient in make-up and mascara removers. |
