Base 107 |
Sulfurized additive |
BASE 107 is a sulfurized lard oil containing approximately 6% active sulfur. It possesses outstanding solubility in highly refined petroleum oils and many synthetic base oils. BASE 107 is lower in viscosity than conventional sulfurized lards, which facilitates ambient temperature blending. BASE 107 is typically applied in straight oil machining, drawing and stamping fluids. It can also be formulated into soluble oils. Selection criteria for sulfurized materials usually include sulfur level requirements, desired viscosity of the formulated product, the need for lubricity and solubility considerations. Due to the fact that BASE 107 contains active sulfur, it is not recommended to be formulated into fluids that are used to work copper, brass or bronze. The following information represents typical, starting point formulation guidelines. |
