The Alkolan CP 30 molecule is partially hydrophilic due to the betaine group and partially lypophilic as a result of the carbon chain of coconut fatty acid. Since the product is a betaine it appears in the form of an internal ion with one atom of positive quaternary nitrogen and a negative acetate group, which confer to the molecule characteristics of an amphoteric surfactant. Due to these characteristics, Alkolan CP 30 is an excellent co-surfactant compatible with anionic, cationic and nonionic surfactants, favoring its use in shampoo, bath products and cosmetic cleansing cream formulations. |
