Blocked Amine Urethane Curative |
 |
CAYTUR 21 is a blocked delayed-action diamine curative for use primarily with urethane elastomers based on toluene diisocyanate and polyether polyols. It consists of a complex of methylene dianiline (MDA) and sodium chloride, dispersed in dioctyl phthalate. At room temperature, it reacts very slowly with terminal isocyanate groups. However, when heated to 100 - 150(C (212-302(F), the salt complex unblocks and the freed MDA rapidly cures the urethane elastomer. CAYTUR 21 yields vulcanizates with physical properties similar to those of vulcanizates cured with MBCA (4,4'-methylene-bis-(2-chloroaniline). |
