| Retarder SAFE |

A non-staining and non-discoloring retarder for natural and synthetic rubber compounds.
Use from 0.10 to 2.0 parts per 100 rhc, depending on polymer and accelerator system used.
Very effective with thiazoles, sulfenamides, and dithiocarbamates.
Not effective in low sulfur thiuram cures. Also useful for replasticizing of slightly scorched stocks by cold mill mixing.
Does not bloom at recommended amounts and no odor occurs from the use of Retarder SAFE.
Does not significantly change the fully cured characteristics of the compound. |

Odor : Slight, typical
Specific Gravity: 1.68
Fineness: 1.0% maximum retained on 100 mesh screen
Moisture: 0.5% maximum
Melting Range: 108o-113oC for Sulfonamide content
Solubility: 95% soluble in benzene and carbon tetrachloride. Insoluble in water.
Storage Stability: Stable
Toxicity: Not considered hazardous for normal industrial use. However, as with most rubber chemicals, avoid ingestion and wash with soap and water after use. |
