Mackalene 426 is a cationic surfactant that is used primarily as a conditioner for hair care products.
Mackalene 426 has an advantage over quaternary ammonium cationics in that it rinses more readily from the hair and thereby prevents build-up or a "matted" feel.
Mackalene 426 is also compatible with anionic surfactants and is recommended as a conditoner in clear shampoo formulations.
At an active level of 4%, Mackalene 426 is mon-irritating to the skin and eyes and will not depress foam when properly formulated.
